No future tense, that is. English constructs sentences in the "future tense" by using one of the modals (will, shall, must, etc.). For example, "Joe will go to the movies". The verb go is in its infinitive form. By using "will" we make a prediction (in the present) of what we think Joe will do in the future. The verb itself, is not in a future tense. Compare to languages which have future tenses, like Spanish. For example: "Juan irá al cine" (Juan will go to the movies.) The verb is inflected for tense by adding the 3rd pers. sing. morpheme -á to its infinitive form ir thus arriving at the future tense form of "go" irá.

Perhaps, in a couple of weeks I will come up with better examples/explanations for you language nuts.

Thank you for all the tumbleweed comments...I haven't updated in ages, yes I know. :-P It's just so hard nowadays. I'm pretty busy what with the new job and all. Let's see, my last update was in May, wow. During the past few months I've been working mostly. We went camping near Lake Tahoe in late July-- that was a lot of fun! Beautiful views:

We're going camping again but this time near the coast. I'm very much looking forward to that. We just bought a new tent too-so we'll get to try it out and see how it feels. It comes with room dividers so we could have a nice 3 room tent or just a more spacious larger tent. It has those mesh tops so I expect it will keep us nice and cool.

This last weekend we went to the State Fair. I had never been before so that was very fun! It was hot, but the exhibits were a nice cool break. We got on a few rides, which I just lurrve. We got on a regular roller coaster type thing when we first got there and then before we left we got on three more rides: ferris wheel, an up and down thingy called "Technohop" that made us all giggle uncontrollably, and of course the Zipper. We got some really nice flips in that thing, good times. Although I did keep having this nagging thought: what if the door swung open during one of the turns? Yes, not too good.

Aside from the terrifying possibility of instant death, I had a great time.

Peet's is wonderful. It is hands down the best coffee I've ever had. If you think otherwise, then you'd be wrong. Before Peet's I only had coffee perhaps a couple times a month. Now that I've been exposed to the tastiness that is Peet's, I have to have it everyday. There is one just down the street from my place, which is a happy thing. There is one a couple of blocks from where I currently work, very happy about that too. AND there is one on the same block as my new job! Caffeinated happiness!

After being in denial for a while, I am now freely admitting to my addiction to YouTube. I don't really watch TV because amongst many things I refuse to get cable. I think shooting water at the pigeons on my balcony is a more worthwhile endeavor. It truly is an artform anor. It truly is an artform and I've been instructed by the very best. Anyway, I digress, back to YouTube. I've been finding all kinds of things in there. Some, quite interesting and/or funny, others... not so much. Check it out if you haven't already.

As some of you have kindly pointed out, I haven't been updating as of late. Frown, frown, tsk, tsk. I have been a bit busy but otherwise doing well. Some bad news though: choir is no more. The chorale director needed to make the decision not to continue because of health reasons. It could also be because she was sick and tired of people not learning the music. In which case, I do hope there'll be a time in the near future when choir might resume? Perhaps. In the meantime, where should I go for my singing fix? Am I to be driven to the arms of another choir?? I shudder to think.
